Vegetablog Returns
Four years after starting the first Vegetablog, I’ve gone and found a new CSA to join for 2009: Allandale Farm in Brookline, which is reasonably close to where I work – and, perhaps more importantly, still had farm shares available when I contacted them, and was able to sell me a half-share. I’m excited to start all over again with a new farm and what I hope will be a more manageable weekly quantity of veggies.
How Vegetablog Started
Paying in advance for 21 weeks’ worth of vegetables, to be collected weekly over the summer of 2005, seemed like a good idea at the time. Would I figure out what to do with veggies known and unknown – or did they turn to blackened sludge in the fridge? I learned a lot and ate a bunch of veggies, and this blog became a good repository for notes about various foods and recipes I’ve since forgotten I even tried.
My first post describes the beginnings of Vegetablog and the community supported agriculture (CSA) farm share program I joined in 2005. Click here for posts specifically about my farm share experience.
About Christine
I live and work in the Boston area. I vacillate between improv cooking and slavish obedience to recipes. My husband always agrees to taste whatever I cook, bless his courage. I think chocolate is a vegetable. I have no idea what’s for dinner.
